Present day, distant past, and far future are all connected by following the lives of our two main characters. Hal and Becky originate from two distinctly different times, yet are brought together as they are forced into a common objective—survival. After being abducted by occupants of a UFO, the couple is transported into the future where they are immersed into the culture of a unique civilization.

Traveling back into the distant past, our characters are confronted with the need to survive without any assistance from modern technology. We follow their lives, watching them grow old together, only to be abducted again into the far future.

All to what purpose? As the novel closes, we discover the reasons behind the entire adventure and the importance of the lives of our hero and heroine to all of humanity. We learn through their lives the true Essence of Time.
