When I was diagnosed with Fuch’s Corneal Dystrophy, the thought of going blind was overwhelming. Gardening, bird-watching, watercoloring and driving soon slowed down, almost to a stop. Through medical technology and God’s wonderful grace, I am now able to see.

Discussing the procedures of how a cornea transplant occurs with the special education students I assist was a privilege. The responses were as you would expect. Then when I told them I would be blind without this wonderful gift from a donor, responses changed. One thirteen-year-old student sitting quietly at my desk spoke up. “Miss, that’s the ultimate gift.” At least I know I have touched some lives and hopefully with this book there will be more.
