These poems are from when I was seventeen to twenty years old. They are my works that I appreciate, the poems that mean something to me. They are a reflection of my life, the high and the low, beautiful and ugly. They are a reflection of everyone’s lives, beautiful and ugly.
The biggest compliment I have ever received as a writer was when I was seventeen. My dad saw a poem of mine on the wall and asked, “Did you really write that?” I replied, “Yes,” and then he said, “You should really look into getting that published.”
It was at that moment that I realized that he was proud of me for something. These poems are for him. With that one sentence, he inspired me.
