For me this conversation is decades old. The disdain black women have for the growing trend of black men seeking women of other nationalities is evident. Out of my sincere desire for understanding and an attempt to raise the white flag, I asked men "Why Not Black Women?" Black women as a whole love black men, so what is making all the "good black men" look elsewhere for a woman to esteem? Men, it truly does not add up to us.

But after months of hearing the thoughts of more than 200 men in seven states, I was drenched with compassion and understanding for the black man, and heartbroken and afraid for the black woman. Within these pages lie my story and my attempt to share the sincere voice of the average black man and to provide some insight for the black woman as a whole.
