A successful architect retreats to an isolated island off the Nova Scotia coast after the death of his wife, only to have his solitude disrupted by the sudden appearance of a frightened young girl. Although the child is wary and uncommunicative, he eventually discovers that she has run away from an abusive family situation, only to be ensnared by the child sex trade. As a bond begins to form between the two, he accepts responsibility for the child’s safety. To help her to return to the life of a normal teenager without carrying the stigma of her involvement in the sex trade, he tries to conceal the true nature of her problems from the authorities, with dangerous results. She is kidnapped by her former abusers, who then invade the architect’s island, bent upon revenge.

Coming Home Again is a sailing adventure, an indictment of the escalating evil of child prostitution, and a very special kind of love story. It is also an examination of two troubled souls who find in each other a reason to regain lost hope.
