Kathy Nesselroad is a second generation Californian. She was born the only child to Donald and Patsy Baker on October 8, 1961 in Glendale. Kathy grew up in Artesia where her family owned and operated Earnhardt’s Turkey Ranch, until it was sold for land development in 1968. In 1975, her family moved to Orange County where Kathy attended Marina High School and graduated in 1978 at the age of sixteen. She has two boys, Ryan and Mike, and works as a business professional in Irvine, California. Kathy’s writing transcends most poetic styles. It combines word painting with metaphors and ranges from the most simplistic to the complex. These works cover a period in her life full of pain, struggles, insecurities, and realization. She comes face-to-face with the death of her mother, several broken relationships, and her children coming of age – the joys of friendship, painful memories, the fear of growing old, and everything in between. She admires the world and all its beauty, but at the same time, accentuates the ugliness that lurks beneath. There is something for everyone in this book.
