Clancey is feeling down when he is rejected by the other circus clowns, as he is just a plain white clown. When Commander Helmut launches Clancey in his rocket, Clancey enters a heavenly realm of brightly colored friends. Guided through Rainbow Valley by Mr. Sun, he visits various colored stars that house odd characters such as Mr. Gilenopper, Dr. Oglenorf, Miss Pluffergog and Mrs. Plopengill. These magical beings each add their own distinctive touch to Clancey’s outfit until he is the most brightly colored clown in the world. When Clancey returns to the circus he is adored by all the children, to whom he gives his own warm and wonderful hug.
