The storyline weaves together several different lives affected by this prophetic date. Doctor Diana Janice, a psychologist who volunteers her services at the VA, is at the center of much of the action. She works with a group of veterans, all seeping with intelligent commentary and insight regarding the current state of the United States and the rest of the world. The plot develops Diana?s complex personal life as well as the individual stories of each of the VA group members."
