Many poems by Mr. Davis were written in coffee shops in California and Texas. Prior to this book, his writing was for technical journals. Mr. Davis retired in 1995 after forty years in the aerospace industry. During his years of engineering work, Hollis kept a personal journal. Many of the subjects of the poems came from these journals. The subjects range from relationship beginnings to death. The creative urge runs strong in his family. His mother wrote poetry and his son, Dr. C.B. Davis, taught “Poetry in the Schools” in Northern California.
