"Why Caged Doves Weep is chiefly about women who have made mistakes in life that could have been avoided if thinking first was a self-discipline in lieu of impulsive decisions.
This book is a story about women’s lives in prison in Mississippi. There has never been a prison story solely about women in Mississippi and how they live and cope with life on an inside world. Many books have been written about prisons; however, this book not only gives detailed information about certain crimes committed in Mississippi, it also describes some of the heartaches experienced by inmates. It details the unnecessary actions taken by women that caused them to be altered for life. Sex, drugs and violence are ubiquitous in the United States today. Each year, crimes are committed by children. Many times parents don’t realize that the very things that are done on a daily basis can be the very things that trigger young minds to become society’s worst nightmares tomorrow. Graphic in nature, we must realize that the things our children see and hear on television are minute compared to the conversations and things done in school. Today?s children are little people with sinful minds just as ours. We cannot afford to withhold information from our children. If we do, they will surely seek it elsewhere."
