Mariah, Whitney, and twins Lindsay and Lesley Arrington, are four sisters living a wonderful life with their parents, Erik and Pam Arrington. When their father loses his job, their mother kicks her husband out of their home, then while Lesley is in the hospital after having her tonsils taken out, Pam puts the other three girls up for adoption, telling the authorities that the girls' parents had been killed.

Mariah's taken to a foster home for a year, then adopted a year later. Whitney and Lindsay are each told their three sisters are dead and are adopted right away by caring families. Pam tells her remaining daughter that her father and sisters are dead, as well as telling her soon-to-be ex-husband that their four children have died.

Will the girls be able to ever be a family again? Or will their mother's hateful actions completely destroyed what they once were?
