Dovie Smith was born in August 19, 1961, in Cleveland Ohio. She is a wife, mother, grandmother, college student and a woman of God. She had parents that always believed in her and encouraged her to pursue her dreams, in-spite of her disability. Dovie went on and married her knight in shining armor, and had three unique and very beautiful daughters and seven grandchildren.

Her life wasn't always this blissful. She had to walk down another path to get where she is today. That path consisted of drug addiction, alcohol, mental and physical abuse, low self-esteem and helplessness. It wasn't until a local pastor confronted her that she decided to find God and get her life back on track. She felt it was her mission to tell her story, even though without writing experience she knew she had a story to tell that needed to be told. With nothing but paper, pen and pure determination, we have From a Mess to a Miracle. If there's anything she wants this book to convey is to believe in yourself, don't give up no matter what it looks like, and follow your dreams, because with God all things are possible. Just believe.
