Orphaned, as a teenager, she must make a life on her own. Raising a family during the Great Depression and through World War II requires courage and determination. Ordinary only in the sense that she never had wealth or prominence, and extraordinary to all who knew her, she manages to find contentment and happiness, despite the tragedies in her life.
