During different times in my life I had experienced several forms of abuse and have learned to take each one and grow through it. The abuse took form sexually when I was seven, continuing into my mid-thirties taking form both physically and emotionally. I am forty-nine years old and can now see the full circle that abuse takes and how it attempts to destroy all that it touches.

As a woman who has experienced abuse to its fullest, I know firsthand the devastation that it can cause in a person's life: the guilt, the shame, the self hate, the feeling of "being dirty," the loneliness, and the confusion.
