My name is E. Scott Smiley and I am a 29-year-old special education teacher, a high school basketball coach, and a poet. Poetry is my way of dealing with the highs and lows of life. Parole for the Soul is a book of poems I wrote that captures the intensity and severity of the struggles in my life and a recent fight for my life. I am here to tell people that if you have patience and pray to God, He will answer your call. At the same time, individuals must find ways to help themselves along the way. Writing poetry provided parole for my soul as God guided me to emancipation, liberation, and freedom!
