This is the story of a young man named Shorty, before and after he and his older brother, Mike, purchase a winning lottery ticket worth one hundred fifty million dollars. Shorty is both a victim and a victimizer on the mean, violent streets of LA. Even though he is a willing participant in the vicious world of gang violence and drug dealing, deep down he is a good person. With his brother’s help, he tries to realize the good within himself, before it’s too late.

One day God appears to smile down on him when he and Mike win the lottery. But what does a person like Shorty do when he goes from being broke to being rich in an instant? Will he respect the gift from God, or will he get caught up in the false security that makes people think that being rich means being happy? “Hey, Shorty! Whatchagon’ do?”
