Josh and Ben are two eleven-year-old friends on holiday at the coast. Exploring the beach, they are unexpectedly caught in a frightening rock fall. Once the dust has settled, they realize that the entrance to a hidden cave has been revealed. Within the cave, they are amazed to discover the beautiful statue of a dragon, its eyes blazing red gemstones. Believing that they have found a treasure beyond their wildest dreams, the boys prepare to remove the jewels. It is then that the dragon begins to stir and come to life. Marrel, the Stone Dragon, turns out to be a friendly beast. Acting as their guide, he takes the boys on an adventure to a land full of wonder and beauty. But danger lurks, and soon the boys find themselves in a race against time as their courage and wits are put to the test.
