My name is Denise Blackburn and I was born in England while my father was in the Air Force. My family’s roots are in New Hampshire, but I was raised in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. My ancestors on my father’s side come from Germany and are from Jewish roots. Approximately 18 years, ago I moved to Florida with my husband and three children. My husband left us a few years later, after a 19-year marriage, and went back to Maryland. I decided to stay in Florida with my children.

I married my second husband, Kenny Blackburn, who has published his own book, Blessings. We have been married for 14 years at this point. A few years back I suffered a mental and physical breakdown, and since that time, I have become a child of Jesus Christ. I have taken the time to know Jesus and learn as much as I can about the person I should be for Him. This is my second book; my first book, Honest Prayers, was published in April 2005. My love for the Lord is so great that I want to share my feelings with everyone I can, and writing down my thoughts gives me the avenue to do this. I am just a plain, ordinary person who loves the Lord. My husband and I write these books not for profit, but for the love of people and to give honor and praise to our Heavenly Father. I enjoy writing, and when I can, I write about the one thing I love the most; it makes it even better.
