Product Description
The citizens of Kasawasa traditional area live in strict accordance with their tradition. Their graceful dances, elegant costumes, sublime beliefs and solemn ceremonies portray the richness of their culture. During Sunshine Season Celebration, two of the participants break some codes of conduct at the ceremony. The wrongdoers are put on trial. Some of the arbitrators hold the view that the accused persons have merely made silly mistakes. Others argue that the offences are taboos. Confusion arises. Taking cues from the suggestions of Kwadwo Adepa, a precocious teenager: the traditional chief stops the trial; the youth agitate for the writing down of the details of their oral tradition to form a permanent record for easy reference so as to avoid the reoccurrence of the misunderstanding. However, the elders insist on maintaining the status quo. Conflict erupts. The citizens look up to their traditional chief.
Move with the Crowd, a satire of the oral traditions of an African community, spotlights the traditional chief who subordinates his conviction to the popular demands of his people, in order to bring his citizens together and restore peace to the homeland.
