Flowers for Isaak is a collection of poems and conversations between myself, a freelance artist, and “Isaak,” a noted theoretical ecologist. We graduated together with the Yale College class of 1996, corresponded extensively in 1996, and then again from 2004-2005. I knew him not as a science prodigy, but as someone who was unusually peace-loving. He knew me as someone who loved to write him letters.
