Petals of Life: A Survivor’s Writings is a collection of poetry written from the viewpoint of an abuse survivor. Though the majority of the pieces are of a personal nature to the author, brought on by something she has experienced, some are not. Mrs. Martin hopes that the reader can be touched by each piece and find an inner serenity and hope in them. As a victim and now survivor of abuse and advocate against it, Mrs. Martin hopes that her words will enlighten a society that has tended to overlook the abused and neglected.
