Product Description
I started out in life with a abusive father. The middle child out of five, I was the oldest girl with two older brothers and two younger sisters. My mother and father always worked, so at a young age I remember taking on the responsibilities of caring for my sisters. I learned that words are probably the most powerful thing in the world—they have the ability to destroy lives or to save lives. I chose to use them to deal with the life I was given, so in writing this book it is my life in poem; it helped me to survive; it gave me an outlet for all the heartache and sorrow that one person can experience in life. Without the ability to write about my trials, I can’t imagine what or how much I could have kept inside before going over the edge. I have God to thank for everything. I believe that every hair on our heads is counted and our lives are planned before we are born. It may not be the life you think you deserve or want, but he gives you what you can handle and a way to handle what he gives. I hope that anyone who reads what I have written gets something no matter how small, or only for a moment, be it peace of mind, strength, comfort, or the power to go on. I will know that God gave me a purpose, and I have fulfilled that purpose through poetry and the power of prayer.
I was born and raised in northeastern Ohio, and lived in different states when I was younger, but always returned to home. My husband and I live in Hartford, Ohio, with our two dogs and a very mouthy blue and gold macaw. Our children are grown and on their own, and we feel fortunate knowing that they both grew into fine adults. Our daughter is a homemaker, and our son is an artist, who created the cover for this book.
