Time has little meaning to a young boy as he flees a rat-infested English city in the 14th century. Seeking a better life in some distant place, his adventurous nature takes him to the past and the far distant future in ways he never dreamed possible.

He discovers an abandoned castle, his true mother, and the secrets they both have kept for years. Thus, a new life is created for the boy in ways only an alien life form is able to accomplish.

The black ship has been buried under the castle for hundreds of years waiting for the time when Earth’s inhabitants develop the technology to repair the damaged craft.

The plague begins and with help from the aliens, the family moves five hundred years into the future to begin a new life.
