Product Description
"I grew up in a communist country. My parents immigrated to the United States with four children, no knowledge of the English language, no education that could quickly translate into good paying jobs and with basically the clothes on our backs. Survival and assimilation were the priority for all.
The message I share in this book with all readers is one of hope, of not letting time slip by and of having a diligent work ethic to get the best education that they can to better their lives and pursue their dreams.
Achieving these dreams won’t be easy, but drawing on life’s struggles and life’s lessons will make them stronger, more disciplined and wiser, and will build the persevering character that helps us all achieve what we set our minds to.
And to the immigrant like myself I say, “Love this country that has taken you and me in and has given us much freedom and opportunity.”
I was born in Havana, Cuba, where I lived during my early years, before immigrating to the United States with my parents and siblings. In my story I share my childhood experiences growing up in Cuba, but also share with readers the lessons learned from them and how these build character and can be utilized to drive not only me but every disciplined person to do better for themselves."
