Product Description
"Roy French was born in his grandmother’s front bedroom in a home on
the west end of Virginia, a small
central Illinois town. It was in the spring
of 1933, the worst year of the Great Depression. A
few days later his father and mother, Dave and
Marie, bundled him up and took him home to
a place out on Hickory Road.
Years passed, and Roy remembers the best times
as those when aunts and uncles came to visit and filled their
small home in the hollow. The men would gather in
the front room while the women sat in the kitchen. Roy would
sit in the doorway between the two rooms so he could hear
the stories coming from both rooms as they told and retold their adventures
of growing up and the fun they had. The stories stayed with
Roy until in later years he wrote them down.
Some of them are in this book."
