"Luke Williams, a thirteen-year-old who suffers the loss of his mother, aimlessly logs excessive hours on his computer, avoiding others in the real world. Residing in Calabasas, California, in 2011, Luke stumbles upon an amazing revelation when chatting on his computer with a girl who apparently lives down the street from him in an abandoned house: she is typing to him from the pastthe year: 1981. Misha Thompson, also thirteen, is the neglected daughter of a military computer scientist who is working on developing the new internet in 1981. Upon exchanging information with one another, Luke and Misha learn that Misha will die sometime in the year 1981, and Luke must covertly uncover clues about how to rescue her. Luke also surmises that the internet-time window might somehow reverse his mother's death by sending her a warning back in time. As friends and family are bothered by their strange behaviour, Luke and Misha must secretly aid one another by exchanging valuable information from their own time. Though leery of the consequences of changing the past, they flirt with the possibilities. Meanwhile, they discover that a former scientific partner of Misha's father will stop at nothing to obtain sole power of the 'information highway' through time. Both, Luke and Misha, must tackle the consequences of toying with this forbidden, mysterious crack in time."
