Product Description
"Tamerah Sue Havens is a native of Missouri, where she grew up. She has also spent many years living in Virginia and Florida. She received her Bachelor's of Art in English from the University of West Florida. She now calls the Ozarks of Missouri home. She lives with her husband and four cats. She has a grown stepdaughter, who was recently married. She calls herself a poet, and is not otherwise employed at this time.
Havens work for the most part is improvisational free verse, which has allowed her to develop her own style of writing. Her verse is clear and concise and relies heavily on metaphors and irony for poetic effect. She chooses her words carefully, so the impact will be felt mentally, emotionally, and/or intellectually. Her work deals with personal subjects that are universally felt, such as heart break and love. She also writes about topics that are sometimes swept under the rug, such as mental illness and abortion. She too concerns herself with more universal matters, such as the rights of women, children and animals. She is very good at getting her point across, and does not leave any strings hanging by tightly wrapping up her poetry in the last stanzas. Havens poetry is throughly modern and is meant to be enjoyed by every reader differently. Read it for an experience you'll never forget."
