She has published in excess of 80 non-fiction articles, covering an eclectic range of topics from health and wellness to adventure travel. Her nomadic tendencies have taken her around the world in volunteer service and adventure travel. In 2007 she published Thai Odyssey, a collection of essays based on experiences during Peace Corps service in Thailand.

Her autobiography reads like a novel. Most recently, she completed a three-month volunteer editor posting in Nairobi, Kenya, with the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), whose focus is on animal agriculture to reduce poverty, hunger and environmental degradation in developing countries. Volunteering is a way of life.
