The Soul of My Past in New Orleans: A City of Many Dreams
$24.95
I was born during the depression. It was tough on my mother who had to raise five children without my father's help, because he was always away on a ship. He made good money on a passenger ship; however, because he was a habitual gambler he would come home with little or nothing to help feed his family. My poor mother had to leave me (at six years old), to watch over my twin sisters who were only two years old, so she could go to work to put food on the table. Fortunately, it made me a self sufficient and a responsible child growing up. At thirteen, I became the leader of a group of teenage street fighters, and then at fourteen, I began working to help my mother. Later as a grown man, I started my own business, got married, then went to Hollywood and became an actor, while out there, I went to college; I then became a writer of screenplays and books.
After leaving Hollywood, I moved back to New Orleans, but lost everything during Hurricane Katrina. Of course, you never lose the knowledge you have acquired. So starting over with nothing was not a problem.
