Lord, she's in the family way, so...
Lord please grant me patience,
For the times she has lost hers;
Lord please grant me courage,
Not to flee in the face of her mood swing;
Lord please grant me insight,
To know what she wants when she doesn't;
Lord please grant me funds,
To pay for what she will crave next;
Lord please grant me an iron will,
To watch her eat that mix of foods;
Lord please grant me knowledge,
To answer those "what if" questions;
Lord please grant me agility
To jump through the hoops she'll need me to;
Lord please grant me wisdom,
To know how to make it feel better;
Lord please grant me compassion,
To have a cold rag for the morning sickness;
Lord please grant me intelligence,
To know how to answer those dangerous questions;
Lord please grant me humor,
To make her smile when she's down;
Lord please grant me grace,
To smile when her temper is flaring;
Lord please grant me strength,
To be the rock she needs me to be;
Lord please grant me love,
To always be the one she can turn to;
And finally, Lord please grant me faith,
To be the husband and father that you intended.
