There are several answers, and perhaps the most obvious is also the strongest argument: because you will both enjoy it. Training isn't a trivial matter for dogs, it's important for their overall well being. Dogs were not a part of my life as I was growing up, I was a cat person. Everything changed on day when I was visiting a local animal shelter. A dog, called Spike, a one year old German Shepherd, and Collie mix was just sitting and did not make any movement to me. I was told he was given up for adoption because he ate too much and the family could not afford him. He was so happy he looked at me with his big brown eyes that said ""take me home."" That was the moment that changed my life forever."
