Three Journeys is the story of three graduating engineers and the diverse paths they take during a turbulent decade. The sixties were a trying and challenging episode for both the country and the three youths, and the disruptions and ultimate triumphs of that time may well represent both the “low water” and “high water” marks for the United States. The three journeys intertwine and overlap, with progression through the uncertainties of an unstable aerospace industry, student riots during the otherworldly Haight-Ashbury era, and the trauma and frustrations of the horrific air war over Southeast Asia. The characters and events of this book are largely fictionalized, but they are bound together by a thread of authenticity, with events leading up to the ultimate triumph of the decade—the landing of man on the moon.
