Richard Slayton was born and raised in a small town in the Northwest corner of rural New Jersey. He finished his undergraduate work in Vermont before traveling the country working a number of diverse jobs, eventually settling down again in New Jersey where he presently teaches English literature at a local high school. His restless background has provided him means to experience most of what life has to offer—if you’re willing to pay attention long enough. The poems compiled in this book are the result of a series of experiences and observations that meant too much to leave as fading impressions in the aging mind.
