Dictionaries define the word “rapture” as: (1) ecstatic joy, or delight; (2) expressions of such joy or delight (raptures); (3) archaic (antiquated, related to an earlier period of time); and (4) the act of being literally carried off. It is interesting that definition three portrays the attitude the non-Christian world holds toward the subject: It is something old fashioned and out of date.
