The Killer Pony is set in 1950s central Pennsylvania when the area, the pony and the characters were having growing pains. Killer was a mistreated and misunderstood pony slated for the ?killer pen’ (dog meat/glue). He would attack any human foolish enough to get close to him. Mr. Henderson visited a stable in Virginia and found the “unbreakable” Welsh-Arab pony tied in a stall to a rubber tire awaiting transport to auction or euthanasia. Mr. Henderson purchased the pony and took him home. There, Killer found his way into understanding hands and loving hearts. Through Amy Martin’s patience and understanding, the pony learned to trust and except humans. As Amy and Killer experienced the adventures of the horse world, their trust and friendship grew. Amy watched Killer reach his full potential as a safe, reliable mount and an equine athlete.
