53 Miles Home is a culmination of random thoughts and sporadic sentences. Much of the poetry contained on these pages has been written long ago. “Thousand Voices” was written well before 9/11; its inspiration came from a photo of a war book. Though the man in the photo and the photographer themselves are not known, the image stayed with the author and was so poignant that that piece had to be written. Through the use of poetic expression, the author examines the world around her. “Remember” is a gathering of friends and memories, adolescent follies and regret, for time is the great illustrator of life and contained within these pages is time. Time for love, friendship, growing up and moving on. Enjoy.
