In the Spring of 1960, Craig S. Freeman survived the miscarriage of a twin sibling. From the miscarriage Craig’s eyes did not develop properly and he was born with 20/200 vision, legally blind. Craig grew up in Asheboro, North Carolina, where he discovered the challenge of living with a visual impairment. After trying to hide his visual impairment and live as a sighted man with 20/20 vision for forty years, Craig realized that he was not being honest with himself, for a visual impairment does not define who he is, but it is part of who he is and should be embraced and dealt with openly. What he has come to understand is that he has been given a wonderful life and he must live it for and by what he is.
