This powerful story reveals rebellious teenage life on the streets of a Southern California area in Los Angeles known as South Bay in the summer of 1959. This was a period of major transition for most American youth, especially in Southern California. Drugs and alcohol use were on the uprise, along with promiscuous sex and violent gang activity. Johnny and T-Bird are the main characters in this story. They were members of a car club known as the 'Greek Gods' of South Bay. It relates in detail, the closeness and friendship of their girlfriends and their buddies in the Greek Gods who had all been together for several years. The story illustrates countless hours of comedy and drama that leads up to a night of a savage gang fight with to rival clubs known as the Grinders and the Heads.
