Buddy Horne, am embittered gay man, returns to his hometown roots after 15 years, bent on revenge for the way he was treated as a boy. Upon arriving home, he begins to confront the ghosts from his past, and slowly and surprisingly discovers that reality and truth may not be as he perceived and remembers them. Challenged by his former “enemies,” he comes to understand that their perception of him in the past was different then he realized. He must decide whether to hang on to the grudges of the past, which accomplishes nothing but heartache and empty bitterness, or, rather, forgive the past and himself, and let go of the old grudges, so he can begin to build new and better relationships with his former enemies, which is what they have all wanted all along. The theme is universal: confronting the ghosts from our pasts, exorcizing them, forgiving them, letting go of them, and moving forward to a more positive and productive future.
