Product Description
I was not born a silver-spoon baby. Everything in my life has been earned through hard work; as I like to say, “blood, sweat and tears.” I was born in Watts, California, and grew up in the projects of East Los Angeles. This book is a compilation of my many travels over the years in an eighteen-wheeler. I improvised, with the use of many different tools, to complete my artwork and poetry. I carried my typewriter and used paints, nail polish, face foundation and even the black soot of the truck’s smoke stacks to create charcoal effects. No one can say I’m not resourceful. I always hoped to be published, for it is my way of leaving a mark on the world.
Most of the poetry in this book is written under my pen name, Truckerup.
