Always the Lady Shadow waits for her lord, Starbrow, to return from across the sea. He comes and goes like the tide; in for a time, then away on some knightly quest, relentlessly pursuing the dragon that haunts him from his past. And always Shadow, who has only glimpsed dragons at a distance, who has never seen a unicorn and never heard of the Faery, waits on the shore for her lord to return.
Yet all times of waiting must come to an end. When danger steals Starbrow far away, it is Shadow alone who can set out to find him in the wilderness, and she alone who will risk her life to save his.
