This is a story about a special needs child by the name of William and his heroic attempt to get down the school hall to the lunchroom in his wheelchair. He encounters many obstacles along the way, children going to and from lunch and going out to recess. Backpacks, coats and lunch bags become his obstacle course and his wheelchair becomes his "stumbling block." Students just Gǣdon't seem to notice William at all" as he is trying to get down the hall, so "they stumble and fumble and try not to fall." Does he finally make it?
