To Be Me: Poems That Healed My Heart$16.95 I started writing poetry and short stories at a very young age. I published my first poem when I was eighteen. I realized that I had a voice, and I needed to use it. My biggest influence was my late uncle, who always told me to write from the heart. This is a collection of poems that anyone can relate to. They are about love, anger, empowerment and forgiveness. I want people to take comfort in knowing that someone else has gone through some of the same situations, and that they’re not alone. People will feel better knowing that they don’t have to go through anything alone, because there’s always someone waiting to lend a hand. I hope these poems will inspire people. Oftentimes, people keep things inside and don’t know how to express their feelings. These poems gave me a voice to say what I felt, and I know there’s somebody out there who will feel the same way. Before you give to others, you have to give to YOU first. Before you love others, you have to love YOU first.
