Angela has dedicated her life to bringing up her triplet nephew and nieces. Giving up a budding law career, she settles into the small beach cottage that was awarded her sister in her third divorce. Having raised the children to the age of two with no moral or monetary support from her sister Marita, Angela has settled into her life.
When Marita appears on the doorstep to collect the children, Angela is livid. Marita calmly explains she has found the father of the triplets and he is extremely wealthy and she knows she needs the babies to coerce him into marriage.
Slate is thrilled to discover he has three children, even if their mother is questionable. But he would take the cat to get the kittens. When he discovers Angela has been mother to his offspring he tries to make the parting less difficult. He also discovers a deep physical and emotional attraction to his babies’ caregiver. He sees no way out of marrying Marita, and Angela sees no legal way to keep her children. But love finds a way after many twists and turns in all their lives.
