Mama Don’t! is about a typical mischievous little boy who always manages to get into trouble. All this misbehaving drives his mother absolutely crazy! She’s constantly telling him, “You're a pain in my neck,” but he just doesn’t understand what she’s talking about, until one day the tables are turned and Mama starts acting like him. She gets into all kinds of trouble, which drives him so crazy that he gets a pain in the neck.

Throughout the story he attempts to make her stop and behave, but she simply refuses to listen. Finally, in the end, she mysteriously returns back to her normal self. Then he realizes how mischievous he has been and how much trouble he has caused her. He finally understands what she means when she tells him, “You're a pain in my neck.” Then and there he promises himself that he would really try to stay out of trouble.
