How do you find yourself if you never knew you were lost? When Allee Quintin first stumbles into a new world called Betwix in her backyard, she is desperate to find her way home. However, she is sidetracked when she meets Prince Ferdinand. He and his brother Esendore, the Crown Prince of Taween, need help finding Esendore’s fiancée Dariel, who was kidnapped by a sorceress bent on taking Esendore’s throne. Grudgingly, Allee agrees, and she begins an epic journey during which she becomes familiar with Betwix’s strange combinations of Earth plants and animals. She is introduced to centaurs, fairies, winged horses, and an extraordinary wolf-like creature called the Alzius.

When Allee is forced to face the witch alone, she must look inside herself to find the strength to save the Princes and their world, both of which she has come to love.
