My main reason for writing this book, Afghanistan and Me, is to introduce Afghanistan to the world. Some historians believe that World War III might start from this very sensitive spot in the world. Afghanistan from birth has been a battlefield of wars, destruction, and bloodshed; it has never rested. My main focus is on the Soviet invasion of 1978, which tore Afghanistan into pieces. Two million Muhideen were killed in the war and six Afghans million were scattered all over the world. Today, Afghanistan is at still war.
